Chill Roll Introduction

Chill Roller is an essential component in the production of BOPP (Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene), BOPET, BOPA ,Optical Film and Battery Separator Film ,which plays a crucial role in the cooling and solidification of the molten polymer when it is transformed into a thin film. The chill roller helps to ensure uniform thickness, flatness, and quality of the films ,with selecting huatao chill roller, which can help you save maintenance costs and purchasing costs.

Chill Roll Function

The chill roller can quickly cool the melt in a viscous flow state below the glass transition temperature after breaking through the diehead quickly, forming a glassy cast sheet with uniform thickness. The purpose of quenching is to make the thick sheet form an amorphous structure and reduce its glass transition temperature as soon as possible. Therefore, there are two very important request for the chill roller: firstly, surface temperature must be uniform and the cooling performance must be good; secondly, the quenching roller must be uniform and stable. Cooling water at about 30°C is circulated internally to assure that the chill pieces are cooled to below 60°C.
